MY HAIR PIC

This is a side view picture of my hair put back. I have hidden my face because the internet is full of people who take other people's photos and use them for foolish pranks. Sorry about any inconvenience this may cause, but I prefer to not show my face at this time. My hair was pulled back with oil and some Gel on this picture. No heat or chemicals whatsoever was used, this is my hair in it's natural state.

WIGS & HAIRPIECES

One of my favorite things is to wear either a wig or a hairpiece. Show me a wig or hairpiece and I'll show you how to rock it. I've worn them for many years and they come in handy when you need a quick style and your hair won't behave. Any time I want a particular style and my hair is either not long enough for the style or just can't be styled that way, wig to the rescue. I have quite a few wigs myself. My next wig is going to be something blond and sexy. I want to completely change my look and vamp it up a little bit. I'll do it one of these days. I always check out lighter color wigs, but can't seem to find one to compliment my skin tone. I've never had a weave in my hair because to me a weave is too final. You have to have the same look until you take it out. Too much trouble for me. I can pop a wig or hairpiece on and pop it back off when I'm ready. No nasty glue or thread in my hair. Quick weaves, the ones that you add your own hair to are nice and very versatile. You can change your look immediately, and if you don't like it, take it off! They are neat. So ladies, all I can say is, go for it. Wear what you like and like what you wear.

TO GEL OR NOT TO GEL

Ah, Gel. This word conjures up a lot of things for me. Either you love a Gel, or you hate it. I have tried so many types of Gel on my hair and was usually disappointed with them. Either they left an ugly white film on my hair or they flaked and usually looked awful. Gel is great for you if you want to pull back your hair. Sometimes I use it and sometimes I don't. I usually layer the Gel with some type of oil or leave-in conditioner and top everything off with some type of oil so my hair doesn't dry out with the Gel. Gel is my friend now since I know how to use it right.

HAIR & MORE HAIR

To most women, hair represents our crowning glory. Especially Black women. There was always an unwritten law of do's and don'ts. We all know them...Don't go near water or get your hair wet, do put grease on your hair and scalp. Yuck! I never put grease on my hair, ever. "Grease" as we know it is mostly made up of petroleum. In other words, plastic. So every time you put grease on your hair, you are only coating it with a by product of plastic. Oils are fine for our type of hair. I like extra virgin olive oil personally. The same kind you cook with is what I use. I also happen to like the brand Jamaican Mango & Lime Cactus Oil. It smells very nice and keeps my hair feeling good. I have learned that you have to try out different things for your hair because what works for someone else may not always work for you. Experiment. Experiment. Experiment, until you find products that will give you the look you want for your hair. I'm still learning and trying out different things. I guess you could say that I'm sort of a product junkie, but that's okay, as long as I find what I want for my hair.

BEAUTIFUL HAIR & MORE!

I hope this blog will address some questions about wearing our hair in its natural state. I don't have anything against anyone who wishes to either straighten their hair with a hot comb or with chemicals, after all I did it for many years. I decided I didn't like the look anymore and it was too much to do for so little results. I wanted to go natural for some time and am sorry I didn't a long time ago. Our hair is the most versatile hair on the earth. My choice to go natural, meaning I do not chemically alter or use any type of heat whatsoever on my hair, was so easy for me. After years of chemical & heat damage to my hair, enough was enough. I also looked at some natural hair websites and got a lot of ideas from the beautiful women on these sites. Their hair looked awesome and gave me the push I needed to go natural. I am also interested in skin care as well, because both things, in my opinion, beautiful hair and beautiful skin, go hand in hand. I will be posting pictures of my hair and other "nice heads" as well on this blog in the near future. I will also put up some skin care secrets I have used for many years. So enjoy this blog and leave comments if you like. No need to post hostile or negative comments because this is a positive blog! E-Mails can be sent to: Napnatural@gmail.com!
